    What We Want:

    As a Commissions Manager at Spring Venture Group, you will oversee the monthly variable commissions payout process for one of the fastest-growing companies in Kansas City. The incumbent will be a naturally talented, highly curious, thoughtful, and self-motivated individual. This highly visible position will work directly with leaders across the organization and will be able to make an immediate impact on the company.



    • Monthly variable commissions calculations
      • Manage end-to-end monthly commissions process, ensuring that commission payments for a variety of roles are calculated in accordance with pre-defined compensation plans
      • Work with Payroll team to ensure that commissions payouts are consistently delivered in a timely and accurate fashion
      • Field and answer questions and comments from employees regarding their variable compensation in a systematic, timely, and helpful manner
      • Lead the way in implementing enhancements to the process, with the goal of increasing efficiency and accuracy, while maintaining a controlled commissions environment
    • Annual compensation plan design
      • Partner with business leaders in reviewing and updating compensation plan designs during annual review process
      • Act as Finance point person, providing detailed analysis of the financial impact of proposed changes, ensuring alignment of employee incentives and company’s financial goals
    • People management
      • Lead day-to-day functions of the commissions team, and provide direction and leadership to analyst team
    • Financial operations analysis and support
      • Work with data integrity team on ensuring robust and accurate company data, which is vital to accurate monthly commissions reporting
      • Work with the FP&A team on overlapping projects as necessary, contributing to essential communication within the larger finance department


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
    • Expert-level proficiency using Microsoft Excel is essential to success in the role.
    • 4-6 years of Corporate Finance experience in some capacity is a must; consisting of Excel-based financial forecasting, reporting, modeling, and analysis.
    • Some experience in variable compensation processes is ideal.
    • People management experience is strongly preferred. Aptitude for people management – demonstrated by progressive leadership and mentorship in prior roles – is a must.
    • Some exposure to relational databases and SQL is a plus. While not required, eagerness and ability to learn is a necessity.
    • In addition to the exceptional technical skills detailed above, the incumbent will possess the ability to take the results of a complex analysis and communicate those results to a variety of audiences, while constantly keeping “big picture” business objectives at the forefront.
    • Initiative: SVG is a high-growth company, requiring a self-starter who will thrive in an autonomous environment with rapidly changing business demands.
    • Time management: Manager must be able to handle competing projects and deadlines, and prioritize time effectively, with a focus on delivering quality over quantity.
    • Attention to detail: The position, and output of the position, will be very visible within the company. Work will affect the variable compensation of nearly 1,000 employees and as such, intense attention to detail is a must.
    • Integrity: Manager will be an integral member of the Finance team; maintaining high standards and effort will be key to building trust within the team.
