    About this role:

    One of Kansas City’s fastest-growing companies is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its ranks.We are looking for someone with a passion for growth — for themselves, their department, and their company. This position is responsible for ensuring the productivity of the data engineering group, through active innovation and collaboration. In this role, you will have the capacity to truly move the needle of success for SVG, working closely with teams across the organization support to implement real, company-wide change and further push forward a well-established DevOps culture.

We need someone who can speak conceptually and then with very little direction, actualize and execute innovations.

    • Design and manage innovative solutions to meet a variety of business needs.
    • Provide guidance to other teams regarding AWS and DevOps best practices, actively research new technology and share knowledge with others.
    • Design, manage, and improve CI/CD solutions using tools like CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Jenkins, Git, etc.
    • Manage platforms using IaC tools like CloudFormation, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, etc.
    • Create and maintain automation scripts using bash, Python, etc.
    • Ensure all systems and applications are monitored using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, DataDog, AppDynamics, NewRelic, etc.
    • Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot critical production issues outside of business hours.
    • Solve problems independently and make decisions on a daily basis relative to DevOps responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.


    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 5 years of experience OR eight years experience working in DevOps and systems administration roles.
    • Experience designing, improving, and supporting AWS environments.
    • Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and solutions including blue/green deployments and automated testing.
    • Knowledge of best practices, procedures, and techniques related to security, application hosting, infrastructure, and network design.
    • Experience managing cloud-native solutions like containers, micro-services, server-less, etc.
    • IaC and scripting experience.
    • Proficiency with Linux, Docker, and SQL.
    • Programming experience with Java, Python, NodeJS, etc.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills
    • Self-motivated individual that collaborates well with other technical and non technical staff to accomplish objectives.
    • Ability to take initiative, be accountable, work autonomously, and provide leadership as needed.


    Must be authorized to work legally within the US. H-1B Sponsorship is not available for this position.
